Berlin (d.de) – The Federal Government has presented its two-year report on its human rights policy. The 16th Human Rights Report describes the human rights situation in selected countries and Germany’s active involvement in human rights issues and projects.

The chapter “Human rights in foreign and development policy” presents the country’s engagement in international human rights forums and in various human rights issues against the backdrop of the Federal Government’s value-driven, human rights-oriented foreign and development policy. The report highlights Germany’s national and international activities in the area of gender equality and equal rights for girls, women and marginalised groups, as well as covering the implementation and impact of the guidelines on feminist foreign policy. Another focus area is the fight against impunity for human rights violations and international offences, as well as the fight against racism, antisemitism, anti-Muslim sentiment, antigypsyism and other forms of group-related misanthropy.

The ministries and the Federal Government commissioners are involved in preparing the report, with the Federal Foreign Office taking the lead.
