Baerbock emphasises importance of Ukraine for Europe
Berlin Forum Foreign Policy: support for Ukraine takes centre stage.
Berlin (d.de) – At the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasised the importance of Ukraine for Europe. “What is at stake here is peace and freedom for future generations and for the continent as a whole,” said Baerbock in Berlin. In view of Russia’s aggressive policy, supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russia in the war would involve "robust measures”, said the Minister. She particularly thanked her allies the UK and Poland for their commitment.
Since its foundation in 2011, the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum has developed into the leading foreign policy conference in Berlin, bringing together high-ranking national and international representatives from politics, government, think tanks and the media to discuss foreign policy challenges facing Germany and Europe. More than half of the participants come from other European countries, the Middle East, Asia and the United States. The forum was launched in 2011 to mark the 60th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Federal Foreign Office after the Second World War and is organised in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office.
