Space Innovation Hub lifts off

Berlin (d.de) – Space travel is regarded as a key industry for Germany’s technological progress and competitiveness. For this reason, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has coordinated with the Ministry of Defence to set up the “Space Innovation Hub”. The project is part of the German government’s Space Strategy. The Space Innovation Hub is an online platform where startups, established businesses, investors, public institutions and scientists can share ideas and expertise. The platform is designed to ensure needs are identified and facilitate the development of tailored solutions in order to boost Germany’s innovativeness and security in space.  

In addition to providing a space to share ideas and knowledge, the Space Innovation Hub will also offer services targeted at start-ups in the “New Space” sector. The project will actively support promising civilian, military and dual-use projects. The platform goes live today and is operated by the German Aerospace Centre (DLR).
