Established in January 2011, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) brings together the long-standing expertise of the Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst (German Development Service – DED), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (German agency for technical cooperation – GTZ) and Inwent – Capacity Building International, Germany. The GIZ is a federally owned enterprise which supports international cooperation for sustainable development.
