Young refugees receive opportunity to study
Germany is enabling 2,500 additional refugees to study at university with assistance from the Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative (DAFI).
Germany is awarding 2,500 additional scholarships to refugees worldwide. As a result, the Federal Foreign Office is supporting the Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative (DAFI) at the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). DAFI enables talented refugees to complete a higher education in the country where they have found asylum or – in the event of their return – in their native country. The new scholarships will above all support Syrian refugees in the states neighbouring the civil war-torn country: up to 1,000 scholarships will be awarded in Turkey, and 700 are available for refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and northern Iraq.
