Since the company founder converted a sawmill into a furniture factory in 1949, high-quality Bulthaup kitchen furniture has remained at the top of the world rankings. Initially Bulthaup delivered kitchen cupboards to the surrounding area using a horse and cart. Today the company ships complete dream kitchens all over the world. With numerous awards and prizes for groundbreaking interior design, the company can now laugh off past errors: in 1970, for example, Bulthaup designed a kitchen for “the housewife as captain on the microwave bridge”.
