Historic agreement with Iran
In the controversy over the Iranian nuclear programme the E3+3 member states have reached an agreement with Iran.
A sigh of relief after 12 years: In the controversy over the Iranian nuclear programme the group of nations that is known as the E3+3 finally reached agreement with Iran in July. The objective behind the negotiations between the UK, France, and Germany (the E3) and the United States, Russia and China (the +3) with Iran was to ensure that the Iranian nuclear programme exclusively serves civilian purposes and cannot be used to manufacture nuclear weapons. Iran’s main objective was that the existing sanctions imposed on it be lifted.
