YODELI seen to come up with this proposal as a result of numerous problems that were facing the communities due to deforestation, rapid soil erosion due to bare soil, decrease in agricultural production due to rainfall unreliability Hopefully it is this Organization will address the challenges among the members of the society we live as identified below.
The members of the project are in dire need to develop them, but could not afford the provision of basic inputs. The major problem faced by the project and which it will be addressed is lack of the most appropriate agriculture inputs to restart normal production activities. These inputs include farm equipment, seeds, planting materials. Other issues: lack of the capacity to provide support service.
Goal and purpose of the project:
- To increase the numbers of trees foe climate change mitigation in Lira and Uganda at large
- To build the capacity of youth through
- Sensitizing meetings
- Provision of inputs such as seeds, watering can, etc.
- Supporting them by providing inputs such as seeds, potting bags, watering can etc.
- To promote income generating activities through
- Training on Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA).
- Training on Farming as A business (FAB).
- Linkages to money lending Institutions.
- Linkages to good markets for their seedlings.
- To improve on the livelihood and wellbeing of vulnerable youth through
- Guidance and counselling
- Training youth on local seedlings management.
- Training on sustainable agricultural production.
- Providing in formal measures on seedlings and nursery bed management
Motivation of the applicant / applicant team:
- Community mobilization and sensitization for the further understanding of the project.
- Training of the Youth Development Link Project executive and animators on the planning, implementation, monitoring and management of especially agricultural project.
- Registration of targeted beneficiaries (youth in farming families within the operational communities).
- Purchase and distribution of viable seedlings and the trained executive of YODELI will ensure that certified seedlings approved by National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) are bought.
- Supervision, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of project activities
