Your greatest moments in Germany
You sent us masses of marvellous photos for our Instagram competition “How Germany Ticks”. And we’re happy to announce the winners.
A vintage Porsche on an old-town market square, a fresh glass of beer in a beer garden, a very colourful stairway in the midst of grey concrete – thank you for all your greatest moments in Germany! To mark the launch of our new website we asked you to capture our slogan “How Germany ticks” in photos. And fans from all over the world uploaded countless great photos on the deutschland.de Instagram channel at #HowGERticks.
We’re amazed by the immense range of different themes showing us what you associate with Germany. There was a great wealth of impressions: vibrant street scenes and romantic countryside, skyscrapers in the banking metropolis Frankfurt and historical half-timbered houses in Rothenburg, a visit to the Documenta art exhibition and a walk through the woods, the overhead monorail in Wuppertal and the Berlin LRT, a slice of tasty Black Forest gateau and a refreshing beer in the Port of Hamburg, and many images of the sky over Berlin.
I got goose pimples when seeing Cologne Cathedral for the first time!
We were delighted in particular when you told us what you associate with that one moment. For example, thegirlfrommanila: “My dream’s come true! I got goose pimples when seeing Cologne Cathedral for the first time!” And camila.j6 shared her memories of “magical days in Munich”.
All the photos are great. Which is why we simply drew random lots from among all the participants to identify the winners of the five MyGermany notebooks. In our photo gallery we present the five winners’ special moments in Germany.
