Project description:

Pan-Africanism / Supporting and Empowering Women is a project that focuses on gender equality through work by improving women’s living conditions in Senegal (West Africa), and more importantly creating jobs for women: We believe that they have skills and they are able to raise the economy. Because there are many women in Senegal without any work, we must do something in order to change this situation: Women who do not work may face certain consequences such as begging, unwanted pregnancies and lack of access to basic needs.
As students, we know the importance that women have in society. They have a lot of innate skills which are not always acknowledged. For example, they impart values to their children by playing the role of a teacher in their homes.
Moreover, they can sell and make clothes, cook meals, and grow vegetables. Unfortunately, they often do not have the necessary means to do these tasks.
Thus, our goal is to engage those women in social entrepreneurship so that they become active and dynamic leaders in society. We want to give to women opportunities to discover that they can serve their country in many ways.

Goal and purpose of the project:

Our purpose is to improve the living conditions of women in society by creating jobs allowing them to regenerate economy that can accompany them to the education of humanity because they are the origin of the world, the foundation of society and its development: They play a key role in the development of the humanity. We want to create leading and dynamic women for sustainable development. In this perspective, we want women who care about the well-being of the environment.

Motivation of the applicant / applicant team:

Despite awareness-raising policies such as parity (emancipation), feminist and social movements, and budgets from NGOs for the welfare and education of women, we find that women's situation has not improved. As a result, we want to support women and resolve the problems they face in a sustainable manner, taking into account their socio-economic realities with the support of humanitarian donors and NGOs for a sustainable development.

Use of prize money:

The prize money will be used to carry out our training projects in trade (i.e. creation of multiservice shops), catering, agriculture (i.e. creation of market gardening), and chicken breeding to enable women with limited or no education to have access to employment in order to eradicate women's unemployment. Thus, this could regulate gender inequality in the field of work.
